Constant of degradation

Constant of degradation. Installation (camera obscura). 2017

A camera obscura (Latin for "dark room") is an optical device that led to photography and the photographic camera. The device consists of a box or room with a hole in one side.
Light from an external scene passes through the hole and strikes a surface inside, where it is reproduced, inverted (thus upside-down), but with color andperspective preserved. The earliest extant written record of the camera obscura is to be found in the writings of Mo Di (470 to 390 BC). Since then philosopher, artist and scientifics have been fascinated by it.

My proposal consist in a serie of four cameras obscura connected in a raw to create the projection of the projection of the projection of an animated object (I include some 3D sketches about the installation). In this way the quality of the image will be lower everytime. To see the whole process I will create a serie of doors, so the expectator could access to the different moments of the memories, but never to more that one at the time. Futhermore, everytime that
a person open one of the doors, the light will come in to the room and will distorted the result of the consecuented projection. With this idea I talk about how the brain reinterpretate the memories and how we manipulate our memories everytime we access to them.
